To my fellow teachers:
In line with our aim to provide comprehensive English learning materials to our students, we are requiring some of our teachers to participate in developing some modules. We came up with this idea to wisely make use of our free time while waiting for our schedule to be filled up. In addition to, these modules will be of great help to our students in the long run. Thus, we expect for your full participation in this endeavor.
Below is the list of teachers included in this activity and the assigned subject they need to work on.
1. Apol Juego Junior Module (conversation) (20 topics)
2. Hazel Planco Writing Module (20 topics)
3. Maybelle Suguitan English Expressions Module (20 topics)
4. Lean Martinez TOEIC/TOEFL
5. Polly Benavente News Articles (25 topics)
6. Hazel Gomez Junior Module (reading) (20 topics)
7. Rachell Cordova Pronunciation Module
We assigned a specific subject for each teacher. You may choose to deviate from these above mentioned topics but kindly inform me in advance before doing so. We can discuss it over to come up with a better one. Your ideas and suggestions will be highly appreciated.
Here's the mechanics:
1. OUTLINE
Once your topic is finalized, kindly submit an outline for approval. I want to check the flow of the topics that will be included in the module.
2. FORMAT
For Junior and English Expressions Modules, we're going to follow the format of our regular modules.
There will be a total of 5 units. Each unit will be composed of 4 topics. With regards to each topic, you may include a conversation, expressions/vocabulary, activity, meaning, questions and so on. The contents may vary depending on the kind of module.
For Writing, TOEIC/TOEFL, News and Pronunciation Modules, it's gonna be a free style. There won't be a specific format. However, you have to let me know the content of each page which is subject for approval.
I sent you the template of the OME module. We're gonna use power point for this. You may opt to vary the style of the slide depending on the needs of the module.
3. DURATION
This project will run for the whole month of November. But the thing is that you have to submit an output every end of the week. This is for me to track your progress in developing the module. Necessary modifications may also be applied along the course. If you happen to finish earlier than the expected time, then it will be much better.
4. CONTENTS
You can use all kinds of materials needed for the module. Books, articles from the internet, old English materials and so on. Please be creative and resourceful.
For this coming Friday, 5th of November, 2010, you have to hand me in the outline of the module. Officially, we're gonna start working on it on Monday next week.
If you have any questions or concerns, please approach me. We want to express our gratitude in advance. ^^;;
